Mozart probably first set foot in Italy, the land of great artistic freedom, on 23 January 1770, when he was fourteen years old, accompanied by his father Leopold. He toured and performed in different cities, making new and eminent acquaintances. We can retrace this journey in time and space via letters, anecdotes, and music to discover more about the great composer and his Erasmus experience ante litteram.
