A perfect masterpiece of dramatic and musical tension, Rigoletto arrives at La Scala in a new version twenty-eight years after Gilbert Deflo’s production. It is directed by Mario Martone, who has gained stature as one of the most significant figures in Italian and international cinema, plays, and opera. Working in partnership with stage designer Margherita Palli, he has staged some of the most successful La Scala productions in recent years.
On the podium, Michele Gamba, gives a reading faithful to Verdi's dictate, built with the extraordinary trio of performers formed by Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Nadine Sierra and Piero Pretti.
