Official Resale of Teatro alla Scala Tickets

In case you are unable to attend a performance purchased online on our website, it is possible to officially propose your tickets for resale on the Teatro alla Scala website, in a safe and transparent procedure in compliance with the Italian law on secondary ticketing.

The resale proposal, if eligible for that performance and ticket, can be done directly from the purchased tickets history in the reserved area.

This website is the only official resale channel for Teatro alla Scala tickets: do not buy from other unauthorized secondary ticket websites.

The resale service applies only to:

  • single tickets (no subscriptions, gift codes, carnets, pass, discounted tickets) purchased ONLINE, on the Teatro alla Scala website, at INTERO (full) fare;
  • for selected opera, ballet and concert performances, where the resale button or banner is shown on the website;
  • within 72 hours from the beginning of the performance.

The sale proposal must be made by the ticket purchaser, logging in with the same account used to purchase the ticket.

To check if a ticket is eligible for the resale proposal, log in to your reserved area: you will see a red “Resell” button next to the ticket details in your “My tickets” purchase history.
The resale procedure is activate for one single ticket at a time. By repeating the operation, you can then propose the other tickets for resale as well.

The ticket must be offered at the purchase price: the sale will be completed only when a new buyer confirms the transaction by buying it online on the official resale platform.

Please note that the resale proposal is binding in case a new buyer is found. However, until a buyer is found, the proposal can be withdrawn anytime in the dedicated page.

In case the resale is completed, the resold ticket will be immediately cancelled and refunded to the seller (by bank transfer, within the end of the following month, with a 10% deduction for commission fees) and a new ticket will be issued, registered to the new buyer.

The success of the resale is communicated by email to the two parties, that do not need to be in contact with each other. In this way, the procedure is entirely compliant with data protection provisions.

Please note that Teatro alla Scala is not responsible for any incomplete resale due to the lack of an interested buyer, any downtimes of the website or internet connection problems or any misconduct on the reseller side.

The service is reserved to occasional, non-professional users, as a ticket exchange instrument for final consumers. By reselling a ticket, the user must verify that no contractual norm or obligation is violated. The reseller remains liable for any misconducts in this sense.

It is also responsibility of the reseller to check if the resale was successful, which means the tickets are now invalidated and refunded. If no buyer was found within 72 hours before the beginning of the performance, the resale is incomplete, as the service ends 72 hours prior to the beginning of the performance.
